Fighter combat International offers a unique flight experience of a lifetime. We operate up to four CJ-6A Nanchang Chinese Trainers on the ultimate Combat Adventure Flight. More information on these great aircraft can be found on our aircraft page.
Once you arrive at our hangar, we can't give you the flight of your life without looking the part. Once in your flying suit, we will gather for a pre-flight Mission Briefing. Here we will give a full run-down about the flight, safety issues and exactly what is going to happen throughout the sortie so you know what to expect. You will be also offered the opportunity to have your flight recorded and delivered to you on DVD for only $135 inc GST. See our Media Gallery for a sample.
Next it's time to strap in, complete the cockpit safety briefing and get ready to hold on! As the 9-cylinder 285 horse power radial engines fire into life you can feel the excitement build. It is only a short taxi and flight out to the combat area before you will be doing something only a few have had the chance to experience. You will experience first hand the art of close formation as used by Air Forces around the world.
Over the combat area you will split the formation and your pilot will take you through a series of aerobatic manoeuvres including loops, rolls, wing overs and stall turns to name a few. Then, diving and turning to gain position behind your opponent, your pilot will then try to gain the advantage in an aerial dogfight - the race to get on the others six first - or go down in flames! This is no simulation, this is the real thing! Your pilot will manoeuvres the aircraft at rates up to 4G whilst explaining the tactics being used by each crew, using real military techniques and procedures to ensure the highest level in safety and comfort.
Your flight will conclude with a breathtaking low level run along the reef before re-joining the formation and returning to base.
Once back on the ground, you can share the exhilaration with your family and friends, waving your hands in the air trying to describe what you have just been through!
The pre-flight Mission Briefing and combat adventure flight will run for approximately 90 minutes. You will spend around 45 minutes strapped into your seat, with a minimum 30 minutes flight time.
Who can fly?
We have had the pleasure of all ages, male and female fly with us. However we recommend a minimum age of 14. Due to cockpit size and aircraft control safety issues, passengers are restricted to 120 kg and a height of 6ft 4 inches.
NOTE: Aerobatic flights may not be suitable for those with a known medical condition. If in doubt please consult your GP.
Flight Availability
We are open for bookings on Tuesdays, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday subject to weather. Bookings are essential.
Disclaimer
Passengers please note in accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authorities Regulations, we are required to inform you of the following:
a) the design, manufacture, and airworthiness of the aircraft are not
required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
b) CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same
degree of safety as an aircraft on a commercial passenger flight; and
c) the passenger flies in the aircraft at his or her own risk.
Flight Pricing Information
Fighter combat International offers various packages subject to the number of flights purchased. Prices as of 1st April 2009 are as follows.
The charge for the Passenger DVD is $135 which includes postage.
All prices are inclusive of GST.

Gift Certificates are also available, and can be mailed out discretely to keep that element of 'surprise'!

If you are using a single gift certificate and you require an opponent to fly against, ask to be placed in our booking pool and we’ll team you up with an opponent – or should we say ‘target’!
Cancellation Policy
1. FCI reserve the right to postpone flights due to poor weather.
2. Cancellations of booked flights made by customers without 48 hours notice will incur an additional fee of $50/passenger.
3. Passengers must be 15 years and over. In the event of the passenger being under 18 the waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
4. FCI reserves the right to refuse flight to anyone who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
5. No refund policy.
6. No-shows will incur a fee of 50% of the flight value prior to the flight taken.
7. Expired gift vouchers will incur a fee of $50 per certificate.
